The people around you matter

You’ve probably heard the saying:

“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”

And in many ways, that’s true.

The challenge is that many people keep looking for change while staying in the same environment, surrounded by the same influences.

Sometimes growth requires stepping outside your comfort zone and entering new rooms, new communities, and new relationships.

Because the voices you allow into your life will often determine the direction of your future.

So in today’s motivational video, I share why your associations matter and how the right relationships can completely change the course of your life.

Sooooo true. I moved out to a suburb as my sons wanted me to be closer to them. I did so & had many new experiences being able to watch my 5 grandsons on sporting fields & meet other grandparents. I joined the local golfclub & met a new circle of friends there & we often have a getaway golf weekend. I joined my local Probus, my local bus excursion company for days out e.g. shows, historical building tours, lunches in country, small 2-5 day getaways all organised etc. I go to my local indoor/outdoor pool to keep strong with hand/leg weights physio exercises (good on rainy weeks) & more. Has been great finding friends I automatically relate to me. I did use my phone to source a lot of this & my life is full. Won’t just happen – we can make it so

Hi Rosanne, That’s a really great example of being intentional about building a full life in a new place. You’ve turned the move into an opportunity to connect, stay active, and create community rather than waiting for it to happen. Very true — it doesn’t just fall into place, we have to actively shape it.
